Now Hiring: Maintenance Helper – Overnight Shift


Join our team at PACE Supply’s Stockton, CA Distribution Center as a Maintenance Helper on the overnight shift (12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., Monday–Friday).

 

We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to help maintain a clean and organized facility. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning and restocking bathrooms and breakrooms

  • Breaking down and disposing of trash

  • Moving trash bins throughout the warehouse

  • Organizing and sorting pallets

  • General upkeep to ensure a safe, clean work environment

Sit-down forklift experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairing structural damages such as windows, doors, and walls

  • Address general wear and tear to ensure the longevity of the facility

  • Paint walkways and perform regular touch-ups to maintain a clean and professional appearance

  • Identify and fill potholes to ensure a safe and smooth working environment

  • Apply preventative maintenance measures to minimize future facility issues

  • Proactively identify and resolve problems to prevent downtime and disruptions

  • Identify and address safety hazards; collaborate with the safety team to implement best practices

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of restrooms and breakrooms

  • Restock supplies and address any maintenance issues in common areas

  • Break down and dispose of trash throughout the facility

  • Move and empty trash bins in the warehouse as needed

  • Organize and sort pallets to maintain warehouse order

  • Operate a floor scrubber to maintain clean and safe warehouse floors
  • Perform general cleanup activities to support a tidy and organized Distribution Center

  • Sit-down forklift experience is a plus

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify.

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent education required. 
  • Warehouse, plumbing, retail/customer service and forklift experience is also desirable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
  • Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge and proper use of the English language, including reading, writing, and oral communications.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices.

Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
