Overview

PACE Supply is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team.

 

As an industry-leading plumbing distributor, we are dedicated to delivering top-notch service and solutions to our customers. The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and oversee several areas within the General Ledger function, including month/quarter-end close, reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with a strong working knowledge of US GAAP and extensive experience in a wide range of GL functions. We are looking for a self-starter who is proactive in taking ownership and resolving issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate as a leader, but a team player, with other members of the staff to resolve client accounting issues that involve the client transactional or process issues or cloud system accounting issues.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries timely and accurately.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage prepaid accounts monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Manage the fixed asset process, including construction in process, working with business units and senior management. Prepare and review fixed asset journal entries and schedules.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of accurate and timely reports and other interim schedules as needed to meet both internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Provide support for quarterly & annual financial, bank and compliance audit inquiries.
  • Prepare schedules and reports for tax compliance and filings.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
  • Support with acquisition accounting for all acquisition transactions
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Provide on-going and ad-hoc financial reporting and analytical support, as needed.
  • Cross train with other roles in the department for coverage as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

 

Minimum Work Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years in a CPA firm or 5 years in a publicly traded company.
  • Proven ability to develop and compose Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Computer proficiency with advanced Excel skills and the ability to use other Microsoft products effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take on new tasks with minimal supervision.

Ideal Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Ideal Work Experience and Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with high growth, fast changing environment
  • Proficient at learning new (and old) software systems

Ideal Professional License

CPA License
