PACE Supply in Stockton, CA has an immediate opening for an experienced Class A Driver who can travel to the surrounding areas. Schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 7:00pm- 6:00am, must be available for daily overtime.

Responsibilities

Class A Drivers are responsible for safely operating heavy-duty vehicles, manual and/or automatic transmission to transport goods and materials to various locations. They must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. Their duties may include:

  • Planning routes and maintaining accurate records of deliveries
  • Loading and unloading cargo
  • Conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Communicating with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules
  • Maintaining accurate delivery logs and other documentation
  • Adhering to hours-of-service regulations and taking necessary breaks
  • Ensuring the vehicle is properly secured before operating it
  • Reporting any vehicle maintenance or repair needs
  • Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior
  • Will drive 53ft, doubles and/or flatbed.

A successful Class A Driver should have a clean driving record, a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and be able to lift heavy objects.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Class A license with a "T" endorsement (doubles, triples, tankers) and clean driving record. 
  • Medical Certification Clearance Card.
  • FMSC Clearinghouse registration.
  • O.T Registered.
  • Must possess Manual Transmission Experience.
  • Excellent customer service, and communication skills.
  • Previous delivery experience (minimum of two years) of wholesale products and warehouse environments preferred.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent is preferred. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify. 
  • Warehouse, plumbing, retail/customer service and forklift experience is also desirable, but not required.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
  • Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow up practices.

Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
